Charleston Event Photography: Beresford Hall Assembly Christmas
If you’ve been following along on this blog for any amount of time, you know I adore photographing the holiday events at Charleston neighborhood Beresford Hall Assembly. And while today’s photos with Santa looked a little different than last year, it was so lovely to be back - and see how much these kids have grown! It never ceases to amaze me how fast kids grow and change from year to year.
The bright red vintage truck was a huge hit, but the highlight, for me, is always checking out the kids’ holiday attire. It’s just so cute. We had matching plaid dresses, reindeer ears, glitter tights, Christmas light necklaces, and a really dapper bowtie!
After photos with Santa, the children enjoyed socially distanced holiday activities such as a snowman ball toss, arts and crafts, dropping off their letters for Santa, and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas.” They also brought gifts for a Toys for Tots donation to leave under a beautiful tree.
Someday, when these same kids all look back at these photos and remember a year of endless masks, Lysol wipes, and hand sanitizer, I hope they also remember a group of caring, kind adults who went above and beyond to carry forth the meaning of Christmas and holiday cheer in a safe and responsible atmosphere. Today’s event was no small feat, but every little smile and shouted wish list to Santa made my heart squeeze.
It was truly special to watch this neighborhood come together to share joy and love, and it was an honor to capture these moments.
