Grit & Grace Studio Grand Opening Event

Last Friday was a really special night for me as a Charleston event photographer.

As some of you may know, while I've been lucky enough to be a full-time freelance photographer since 2008, the pandemic hit my field HARD. All my shoots vanished overnight in 2020, and I was in an absolute panic.

Fortunately, my client and friend Rachel at Grit & Grace Studio hired me onto her marketing team pretty much right away. If you've been following this blog (hi, Mom!), you may remember that I photographed for Grit & Grace Studio in the very beginning of their journey. As a member of the Grit & Grace marketing team, I'm a content creator, sender of very obnoxious but very creative late-night emails, blog editor, and curator of email campaigns.

Fast-forward to October 1, 2021, and I still work on the G&G Marketing team, I'm still a full-time freelance photographer, and both Grit & Grace Studio and Reese Moore Photography survived the lowest points of this pandemic.

Not only were Rachel and I both not sure what would become of our respective companies back in early 2020, but we've both emerged stronger and more determined individuals. If not for the support of the women in this small business and a spot on their team, however, I have no idea how last year would have gone for me.

It was with absolute joy, pride, and gratitude that I set foot in the brand new Grit & Grace Studio Flagship store for their grand opening party last week as an event photographer (and team member).

The space is gorgeous, as I knew it would be, and filled with all the goods and gifts you never knew you needed, but it was the team's collective sense of accomplishment that really stuck with me.

In a time when small businesses are still struggling and closing left and right, this family of women came together to weather the storm, support each other, and somehow manifest the wild dream of this epic and giant new retail location into reality. That. Is. Amazing.

Congratulations to Rachel and the rest Grit & Grace Studio family on the new location! I hope you'll stop by their new location at 125 King Street as you start your holiday shopping. Please remember that every time you support a local business, you put food on the table for members of your community.
