Kiawah Island Family Portrait Session: The Roberts Family

There is something so special about staying with a client through the years.

When I first did a family portrait for the Roberts family out on Kiawah Island, it was way back in 2013 and John and his girlfriend Veronica had just gotten engaged. We did family photos with the grandparents, each sibling’s family, and a few of just the two of John and Veronica on the boardwalk, and then fast forward to May of 2014 and I got to photograph Veronica and John’s rehearsal dinner at Cinder Creek!

A few years later, in 2016, we brought the whole gang together at the house on Kiawah for another family session, but this time there were even more adorable new additions to the family portrait: the Roberts were up to 5 grandchildren and one more on the way!

Fast forward to this year, and this sweet family has even more to celebrate: they now have EIGHT adorable grandchildren in the family.

While corralling eight youngsters and eight adults for a family session could seem a bit daunting at first glance, this group has the family portrait down pat! Their outfits were perfectly coordinated and the kids were all wonderfully behaved, and you would never know by looking at the final images how quickly we hammered out all of these separate portraits! (No one wants to linger in the July heat in South Carolina any longer than necessary, ha.)

It was so lovely to catch up with the Roberts family, and it’s been so special to watch them grow and celebrate more life milestones through the years. This is part of what keeps me coming back to photography day after day and year after year!
