Bourbon n' Bubbles: Charleston Food Photography

Bourbon n' Bubbles: Charleston Food Photography

Something lovely has joined the slew of upscale restaurants on the northern end of King Street, and it’s the swanky cocktail bar of your dreams. Meet Bourbon n’ Bubbles, which specializes in, well, bourbon and bubbles!

Charleston’s newest luxury hot spot offers up a beautiful selection of bourbons and classic cocktails as well as champagne to suit every palate and the space is, frankly, to die for.

When Bourbon n’ Bubbles contacted me to shoot some interiors and menu items, I had somewhat of an idea of what to expect, but the sleek interior exceeded all my expectations. Contemporary meets modern mid-century in this downtown Charleston bar that is both cozy up front and then glam in back - behind the pocket doors, of course.

I could go on about the space. And actually, I will in a separate post later!

Today I want to share some of my favorites from our cursory menu shoot. If you know me, you know I frequently joke that eating is my favorite sport. I’m going pro in it, y’all.

So playing with light and food is one of my favorite ways to spend a day behind the camera, and of course it doesn’t hurt when the client is plating up food this beautiful for me to photograph.

My favorite dish to shoot was hands down the steak tartare. Look at the plating on that! I can’t wait to go back without a camera and give it a try.

I hope you’ll all check out Bourbon n’ Bubbles this weekend and who knows, maybe some of you will even sign up for their much-talked-about liquor lockers! What’s a liquor locker? Bourbon n’ Bubbles offers members’ only liquor lockers so their patrons and corporate accounts can keep their favorite luxury and rare liquors on hand at all times, also allowing them bypass any lines and have a more personal experience in the space. Though the membership is currently a bit out of my budget (it starts at $2,500), it’s a cool concept!

Stay tuned for more of my favorite photos from Bourbon n’ Bubbles!
